Indiana Sentencing Guidelines:

Misdemeanors:

A Misdemeanor: Max of up to 365 days in jail and fine of up to $5,000.

B Misdemeanor: Max of up to 180 days in jail and fine of up to $1,000.

C Misdemeanor: Max of up to 60 days in jail and fine of up to $500.

The minimum sentence for misdemeanors is 0 days in jail and a $0.00 fine. However, a court may order one year probation for misdemeanor offenses.

Felonies: (From less serious to most serious)

F6: 6 months 1 year 2.5 years

F5: 1 year 3 years 6 years

F4: 2 years 6 years 12 years

F3: 3 years 9 years 16 years

F2: 10 years 17.5 years 30 years

F1: 20 years 30 years 40 years

Murder: 45 years 55 years 65 years

Credit Time:

Credit time varies by level of the offense. Misdemeanors and Level 6 Felonies with get 1 day credit for every day served. Essentially, this means that the individual would have to serve 50% of the executed portion of their sentence. For those being sentenced to a Level 5 Felony or greater then the individual will get 1 day credit for every 3 days served. This equates to 75% of the executed portion of the sentence needing to be served.
